🇫🇷 Biographie
Né dans l'État d'Akwa Ibom au Nigeria, le trompettiste, compositeur et chef d'orchestre Etuk Ubong arpente les plus gros festivals mondiaux du genre, représentant fièrement le talent de son pays natal.
Bercé par la ferveur de son idole Fela Kuti, Etuk Ubong a commencé la trompette à 14 ans et a développé un jazz funky hybride empli de groove, enraciné dans l’afrobeat, le highlife et les rythmes rituels ekombi.
Fondateur du club The Truth à Lagos, devenu en quelques années l’un des foyers les plus créatifs de la scène nigériane underground, il défend une musique qu’il appelle Earth Music, libre, rageuse, introspective et profondément panafricaine.
Son album Africa Today (2020) est un manifeste sonique contre la corruption et pour la renaissance du continent.
En 2024, il signe le morceau Ikwö Ufan Ikwö Ima avec le rappeur-philosophe DOTTi the Deity, mêlant spoken word et funk modal dans un même souffle.

Born in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, trumpeter, composer, and bandleader Etuk Ubong tours the world's biggest festivals of the genre, proudly representing the talent of his native country.
Inspired by the fervor of his idol Fela Kuti, Etuk Ubong began playing the trumpet at age 14 and has developed a hybrid funky jazz filled with groove, rooted in afrobeat, highlife, and ekombi ritual rhythms.
Founder of The Truth club in Lagos, which in just a few years has become one of the most creative hotspots of the Nigerian underground scene, he champions a music he calls Earth Music - free, fierce, introspective, and deeply pan-African.
His album "Africa Today" (2020) is a sonic manifesto against corruption and for the renaissance of the continent.
In 2024, he released the track "Ikwö Ufan Ikwö Ima" with rapper-philosopher DOTTi the Deity, blending spoken word and modal funk in the same breath.

وُلد في ولاية أكوا إيبوم في نيجيريا، عازف البوق والملحن وقائد الأوركسترا إيتوك أوبونغ يجوب أكبر مهرجانات العالم في هذا النوع الموسيقي، ممثلاً بفخر موهبة بلده الأصلي.
متأثراً بحماس مثله الأعلى فيلا كوتي، بدأ إيتوك أوبونغ العزف على البوق في سن الرابعة عشرة وطوّر موسيقى جاز فانكي هجينة مليئة بالإيقاع، متجذرة في الأفروبيت، والهايلايف، وإيقاعات إيكومبي الطقسية.
مؤسس نادي "الحقيقة" في لاغوس، الذي أصبح خلال سنوات قليلة أحد أكثر المراكز إبداعًا في المشهد النيجيري تحت الأرض، وهو يدافع عن موسيقى يطلق عليها "موسيقى الأرض"، حرة، غاضبة، تأملية وعميقة الانتماء للوحدة الأفريقية.
ألبومه "أفريقيا اليوم" 2020 هو بيان صوتي ضد الفساد ومن أجل نهضة القارة.
في عام 2024 ، أصدر أغنية "إكوو أوفان إكوو إيما" مع مغني الراب والفيلسوف دوتي ذا ديتي، مازجا الكلام المنطوق والفانك المقامي في نفس واحد.
